Fresh Fig and Cream Cheese Schmear

Here’s a quick recipe using fresh figs, roasted walnuts and cream cheese. Quick, easy and delicious.

7 – 8 large fresh figs
½ cup toasted walnuts (chopped)
8 ounces softened cream cheese (Neufchâtel works well too)
Fresh baguette

Cut figs into quarters lengthwise and remove peel. Mash the figs in mixing bowl. Combine figs, nuts and cheese in bowl and mix until blended. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

To serve, spread fig/nut mixture on baguette slices (or better yet, crostini).
